Season 2 Episode 2 (Prom Is All That Jazz)

This time, it's all about excess.

The Black Cat Jazz Club in Arcadia Plaza, Tuesday night. Our favorite group of friends were spotted attending a very important event there and the place was packed with all the other "Glitteratis" who were also attending. The club was so hot that I swore I even thought all the Champagne Socialites were going to migrate over there. After all, IT'S PROM!!! And the theme was "All That Jazz".

Don't you ever wonder how come we get to have prom in college?

Well, it's not so much of a prom as a farewell party. You see, some of us are going to take their master degrees abroad so a little get-together is in order before we'll part and never see each other again in our lives. Hey, I'm just being realistic here people. It's so sad to see some of us go, unfortunately some that I'd like to see gone is not.

If you ever wonder how come life isn't fair? I can never give you the right answer that, but I'll tell you one question I can answer though: "Who wear who?"

As for the whole prom debacle, we're a marketing class! What do you expect from a bunch of marketing students? I guess prom sells better than farewell party for some people that we hardly know. It's all in the branding and positioning or something.

So off to the main gossip.

A was spotted wearing a not-so-jazzy outfit, a leopard prints top and pants with a matching hand bag. Grrrrowl!!! Fortunately she brought a back up outfit and changed into a much classier dress. Good call A, if you hadn't changed you would be on your way to the fashion mishap page by now.

The night was glorified by an appearance from a special guest star whose face hasn't made a public appearance lately, W. In the midst of farewell, there was also a reunion. It's nice seeing a familiar old face! W's girlfriend was nowhere to be spotted though. When asked about it, W said that Little F had to study for her final exams for the following day. I'll say it's such a shame to miss such a grand event.

T was spotted with his new girlfriend V and they were looking hot. Kudos for V's outfit though. She looked glamorous in a black satin dress complimented by a fabulous black coat. I for one think that V made one hell of a debut in front of all T's friends. This one's a keeper, T!

Nothing much happened with C, I, and R, but hat doesn't mean they were any less stellar than their other friends either. Between all the partying, and the photo ops, and the clicks and flashes, it seemed like I had had enough while R seemed to can't get enough.

Several awards were given to our favorite group of friends:
"The Hottest" went to A.
"The Smartest" went to I.
"The Nicest" went to R.
and "The Best Dressed Male" went to W.

Season 2 Episode 1 (Dinner at Debenhams)

Hey People!

Wanna know how the other side lives in the big city?

Well, for starters, we shop 'til midnight at high-end shopping malls for our favorite branded goods. We'll wake up at 6 in the morning and go to the campus to take our final exam and we'll do so by looking freshly fabulous.

How can we do that?

Well, we're young and we're hot, that and a lot of caffeine in our system to kick start the day.

It's been a long time since we left our favorite group of J-Towners. Hmm...how are they doing anyway? Lucky for you, Gossip Boy has all the latest scoop and ready to dish. A lot has happened since the last sightings of our favorite group of friends. Some are still in the picture. Some are out of the picture. And some are drifting in and out of the picture.

The last we left T he was pursuing that what's-her-name, but now T has a new girlfriend, V. For a while there, thing seems to be going steady. But we all know there's other thing on T's mind. My advice to you: Be her Captain Picard, T. Boldly go where no man has gone before. After that... a gentleman should definitely kiss and tell!

W and Little F are getting more and more serious. W has taken F to meet the parents and F showed her childhood album to W. Aww, how cute! Well, Gossip Boy thinks it's still too early for this young couple to start thinking about the future. There's still so much to prove. We'll see how long they'll last.

A was spotted at two clubs in one night. Quite the party girl, isn't she? Word on the street is that she is still keeping in touch her mystery man.The big problem is the man is already with the old ball and chain now. Well, how about that? That is one very juicy and scandalous little tidbit. Seems like our resident bad girl has a knack for wreaking havoc in other people's paradise. You know we love you, A. Things wouldn't be as much fun without you around.

The former queen bee, C has been seen hanging a lot lately with a certain gentleman. And just yesterday, she was spotted buying a ticket to prom. Just one? Looks like this one princess doesn't need a little white knight to rescue her. Though it'd be nice for the Knight to get off his ass and saddle up his steed for once. Wonder what kind of designer label she'll be sporting though.

R has been spotted alone during weekends a lot lately. Where are your high school friends that you used to hang out with all the time? The rumor mill said that R has been getting the cold shoulder treatment from his exclusive gang which makes me wonder whether his membership has been downgraded from A-list to B-list. Well, at least his gym membership is upgraded from general to personal. Congratulations, R! The lonely boy title is now officially yours.

And finally as for I, he's been spotted bringing and drinking booze on campus, getting drunk at clubs, puking his guts out on the parking lot, in and out of a certain hospital in the west side for more than one occasions, staying out late, and asking for his friends to lie about his whereabouts to his parents. Are all these things connected with one another? What's with all the misdeeds, I? Problems at home? Well, don't stop there! Things have just gotten a little more interesting.

With prom night coming up we all certainly could expect some more intrigue and drama from these group of friends. After all, the ingredients are definitely there. Looking forward to it, good Binusians! and stay tune for the latest "411" on what's up and who's going down!

Season 1 Episode 4 (Time To Talk)

From a film festival to a late-night costume party and an album launching to a glamorous fashion show, Gossip Boy's social calendar has been keeping him busy. If you by any chance attended any of these social events, then there's a big chance that you might have spotted me. Gossip Boy has been so busy collecting enough dirt on our favorite group of friends that you will be happy to know there's plenty of gossip to go around. Here's a glimpse of what's on the menu: a car crash, a broken heart, and a bottle of tequila.

Let's start with the film festival first. A, T, I, R, and F were spotted attending Screamfest at Blitz Megaplex and then off to an after hour costume party featuring Aming, Maya Achmad, Bunga, and Tora Sudiro with live performances by Goodnight Electric. Looked like they were having a blast. Such a shame C, P, J, and W were nowhere to be spotted. Apparenlty C and J's guts couldn't stomach too much gore and horror so they decided to skip. After going with the gang to C and A's birthday at Ritz Carlton the previous day, P decided to skip this event as well. Maybe she thought it's enough partying for one weekend? Or off to another party? Luckily W was home in time from Hong Kong to attend a world premiere of "Pathology" with the rest of the gang.

T was spotted accompanied by a sweet looking girl. Turns out, she was the new fling. Funny story though, the new fling is friends with the old fling. Wonder what kind of drama this situation is going to ensue. Well we can only wait and see. Let's hope it's a juicy one. T doesn't even seem to be losing his confidence after the shameful accident last week that cost his beloved precious Mercedes Benz. A run-in with a Transjakarta Bus. Well T, if you had been listening to your friends to do a prayer for a poor little cat that you ran over with the car several days before, you might have been spared all the bad karma. Poor little cat, poor little car. So that's why you were spotted acting suspiciously in the middle of the night checking the car. Even though T was "Merci"-less, it didn't stop his effort to lock it down with the sweet looking girl. T wasn't spotted with his friends during the album launching because he would like to spend sometime with the girl at some bazaar somewhere. If only our Don Juan is not moving at the speed of a special Olympic hurdler's, he could have already scored by now.

Also wasn't spotted: J at Gya's album launching in X2. Our lonely boy wasn't even allowed to attend the party. Funny moment: J in a lock down at the photocopy center at the campus. He was locked inside and couldn't get out for some time. Hope this time you aren't also locked up at home. It would be such a pity to miss such an exciting event.

Spotted: C bringing a date to the album launching. Unfortunately the date didn't even look like the one she was longing for. The date was her girl friend. Now that the loverboy's girl has returned, does that mean that a heartbreak is in order? Such a shame C had to go home early with her family. The after hour party at Equinox could have been just what the doctors ordered.

However, things didn't go exactly as smooth for P at the post party though as she was already so wasted by the time the fashion show ended. Yep, a bottle of tequila will do that to you... or was it because of Capricorn85 getting friendly again with Cancer86? Word on the street is, Capricorn85 has been visiting P at her home. Could something have happened between the two of them that we aren't even aware of? What could it be? Or is it simply that a good girl has finally gone bad? Don't forget P, you still have a boyfriend offshore somewhere.

A was spotted busy juggling men at the party. A, I, and R danced together for a while, that is only until A's mystery guy made an appearance while W and F were spotted dancing on the runway with the rest of the gang. After leaving, A was spotted with the Mystery Guy checking in into Mulia Hotel. Hmm...

The night ended with the class of marketing 2009 leaving one by one, but for this group of friends, it ended with A and F helping P wash her face off in the women's toilet. The album launching turned out to be a night of heartbreak and major drama; all the ingredients to a successful party if you ask me. Thank God nobody puked though!

P.S.: And since it's writer's strike, Gossip Boy will also be on hiatus for an unforeseeable future. Hehehe....

Season 1 Episode 3 (No Offense For Exaggeration)

Once upon a time in a magical land far far away, there were a prince and a princess who fell in love with each other and live happily ever after. However in real world, we call them Capricorn85 and Cancer86, and since it is a real world, life isn't exactly a fairy tale, in fact life is very far from it. Let's just put it this way, if happily ever after means happy ending, it should never have to end.

Top story on Gossip Boy, our girl P has a secret admirer and her secret admirer is none other than the infamous Capricorn85. Word on the street is Capricorn85 has asked her out for a lunch date in just a month after his break up with Cancer86. Not so secretive anymore, are we now? Well, you know what they say: the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else... What's next? Dinner and a movie? No wonder Cancer86 has been looking rather bleak lately. Interested in being the rebound girl, P? Consider it charity work then.

Spotted at Ritz's lobby lounge, C getting all flirty over some guy in toque blanche and exchanging cell phone numbers. Seems like you got yourself your very own personal chef. BTW, how old is he? Is he boyfriend material? What about a certain someone who recently had his 23rd birthday? Well C, seems like you've been one very busy lady lately. Putting out an APB.

And what about J? Now that all his lady friends are getting very busy with all the boy-drama, will he get lonely? Will they have any time for this one boy? If only he could get one of his lady friends to be more than friend.

Spotted at MKG food court, R yelling and screaming to a banker on the cellphone. No need to go through the rumor mill this time, all his yelling and screaming led for all to hear that his credit cards have just got declined. What's the matter, R? Trouble at home? Problems with the mom-ster? Seems like he have some issues that need to be dealt with ASAP. Is the prince of the city going to turn into a pauper overnight?

Latest gossip on T, rumor has it he's still not getting anywhere with his latest fling. Better lock it down fast with her, T. It's been a month. Maybe you can bring home trucks full of gifts from your trip to Singapore this weekend for her? That is your usual MO, isn't it? Just don't forget to bring some for your friends though. Word of advice T, don't ever give a girl 13 hamburgers at once.

For some time, A might have been unaffected by gossip. But not this time. One of my many sources told me this, A falling head over heels for some Arab guy. Well, we could never understand your taste in men. And what about your mystery man, A? Seems like his 15 minutes of fame is over. We applaud you for being adventurous, A, but that doesn't mean we feel you, girl.

Spotted: F with an eye irritation. Ouch!

Spotted, W sporting a new Mercedes Benz C-Class and a sleek new hair cut. We also hear, he is very busy redecorating his store. Is it that time of the year already? Turns out, the store was also the reason behind his recent stint to drop out of college. His father's most trusted employee has decided to quit the company, so now W has decided to quit the campus. Who will decide to quit next?

Wasn't spotted: I was no where near The Ritz during T's birthday party last Saturday. In fact, he was a no-show. Story was, he got sick that day. However later that evening, he was spotted with the guys at some promotion booth in EX in boxing gloves and punching a cushion, hard. Looks like his stress level is way off the chart. Careful I, it would be a shame if you catch a CHD. You're way too young to die.

The moral lesson: Love is a crazy thing. People fall so quickly in and out of it. Hearts are easily broken and feelings are often hurt. This week was all about Gossip Boy's two favorites things: break-ups and hook ups. And there were plenty to go around. Seemed like everyone was either hacking it or macking it. Well, except for Cancer86 that is, and since this is a real world, maybe we can kick the princess' sorry ass back to the fairytale kingdom where she belongs.

Season 1 Episode 2 (Plateau of Self Mockery)

Good evening, J-Towners! Gossip Boy here. Your one and only source to the fabulous life of the Jakarta society.

Top story on my home page, W trading higher education for manual labor. We hear he is planning to drop out of college. Isn't it only a year or so until graduation and just as suddenly he decides to call it quit? You didn't hear it from me, but the low income tax bracket isn't exactly very attractive.

Spotted at J.Co: R, I, J, T, P and little F hanging together. Word is, they caused quite a scene playing truth or dare. At one time, even the music needed to be turned up just to cover up all the commotion. Sounds like a party.

And you know who else loves party?

Gossip Boy.

And talking about party, T's birthday party is coming up just around the corner, and everybody is invited. Well, not everyone it seems. Word is, F wasn't even invited. Did the invitation got lost in the mail? Well, too bad for you little F, even with all the love you've shown, you still couldn't score an invite.

Spotted at the lobby of S City, P flirting with a strange looking guy and asking for his number. As LDR with BF can make you go WTF, there is no need for P to trade down.

Spotted at GAP, R asking about employment to the cashier lady. Looking for job, R? Allowance money not fulfilling anymore? Extra expense with extra someone requires extra money?

Spotted, C roaming the halls of clothing stores looking busy and coming out with one big brown paper bag. Gift for the birthday boy or buying dress for the big party? We hear the event is in Ritz Carlton and the theme is formal with colors. Wouldn't want to get yourself dressed down by others.

Spotted in front of Debenhams, I was asking some guy for his number and to take a picture together. Is he just picking up strangers from the streets now? What is he up to this time? No one can tell what that guy was thinking.

And as for the birthday luncheon, steak, pasta, and sushi are the standard items on Ritz Carlton menu. But with this group of friends, the main item in the menu would be drama. Fortunately, Gossip Boy will be there to give you all the inside scoop on the latest gossips.

Season 1 Episode 1 (Pun Intended, Of Course!)

Good morning Binusian! Gossip Boy here, your one and only source to the not-so-scandalous-in-fact-very-ordinary life of the J-Towners. It's mid-exam week, and with IPC going on, seems like things are getting more than hectic for the juniors. Better pace yourselves people, we wouldn't want you getting sick and catching any disease like, say, cough...or worse, bird flu. Okay, next order of business.

One of my many sources told me this, I has been caught yawning...a lot. Why so sleepy, I? Insomnia, late night study, or something else? Word is, he was spotted at one very controversial club in town several nights ago. Going back for more?

Spotted, C bringing Tiramisu cake that she baked on her own. Special occasion... or special someone? We know there is a little something going on with you and N for sometime now. Careful C, someone might object. Well, whatever. Gossip Boy is always up for some drama. Catfight, perhaps? I hope someone gets seriously injured.

Spotted at D Square, W, T, and little F hanging together. At one time, T and F were seen walking together hand in hand. And what about W? F and W have been hot and heavy for quite some time now. Wonder what W's reaction was. Word of caution F, better know what you get yourself into because somebody could just easily gets burned.

Spotted A with tears rolling down her face and having heart-to-heart with someone on the cellphone. Why so glum, chum? Does this have to do with the Mystery Man you brought to the party last week? Do tell, baby girl. Gossip Boy will be more than happy to dish out all the juicy details.

Spotted, R with a new Sony Ericsson P1i and still running late to class. Shouldn't new attitude comes with a new phone? No? Maybe you can buy it too. However, we hear this one is very expensive and only comes in limited editions, or for some people... it's not even for sale. I guess all the gadgets in the world wouldn't mean a thing if you don't get yourself a nice new pair of on-time attitude.

Latest gossip on P, we hear she finally got back with her ex. What about that sophomore boy, P? Things were getting quite interesting for some time back then. Will they? Won't they? The suspense was killing me. I was on the edge of my seat then, but this on/off thing, isn't it getting a little too old for our target audience?

Finally, we've come to the head of sponsorships for IPC. Hello J, anything new with you? Seems like you don't have so much going on these days. Well, maybe if you get yourself rid of all of those magic cards, get on the horse, and find yourself someone nice, there might be something worth gossiping about. In the mean time, one of my sources, Aquarius88, said to me that you've been spotted very busy lately with a cellphone literally attached to your right ear at all time. Trouble in paradise? Problems with the sponsors...or spouse? finally?

As for me... I've just been craving this oh-so-very-badly-delicious vanilla latte from Starbucks hhehehe... :P and you know what else is delicious?
